Sitting in the back of an empty bar at a secluded table , we , 6thirty7 , sat patiently awaiting the arrival of an "interested" agent. He arrived and spoke. He said we were good ; he said we were really fucking good ; he said we had enormous potential. He said that he saw us play at Locobazooka 99'on August 28th at Green Hill Park in Worcester , MA at 10:35 am in front of twelve thousand hung over kids. He saw those kids, at 10:35am, go nuts. He told us that we could make "tons of money" if we reformed and commercialized a bit. Our drummer, Timmy, threw table accessories at him and flipped. "We go nut," he said, "that's what we do. We go nut."

Our message is just and clear. Explore your hindsight and you will find that throughout history one single pattern has remained constant, the lapse of time between action and reaction becomes miniscule due to the speedy over processing of information. The years are closing in where action will become instinct, and one reaction will be inevitable, extinction. We beg you....open your eyes, see the world for the downward spriral it has become, know why. Resist the status quo, the "norm", the standard. Will you fall victim to society's exponential curve? We certainly hope not.....

6thirty7 is dedicated to the idea of uniting all kinds of people from all walks of life under one roof, so that they may vent oppression, and see one another where ignorance holds no ground.
-Slo

6thirty7 began in late '97 when Slo and his good friend Denny decided to jam together. They soon found ex Face bassist Mick Jones and began to write using Face frontman Dave Mikuta as a temporary drummer. Dave soon was replaced by Face Drummer Timmy who eventually left Face to pursue 6thirty7 full time.

The band recorded a self titled sampler cassette that was released by Mick Jones' SFM productions. The band played a variety of parties and hall shows in Worcester and Western Massachusetts with area bands including Shoot the Dancing Bear , Stick Bitch and Kilvein.

Mick soon parted ways with the band to pursue another project and was replaced with Brian , also formerly of Face. Ironicly Mick Jones is once more playing in Face.

As the bands sound was evolving from its original rapcore-meets-garage rock stylings into a much heavier brand of music they realized that they would need something to thicken up the overall sound. Enter "Metal" Steve of the recently defunct band Kilvein.

The addition of the second guitarist added a new dimension to the mix. This , coupled with the bands evolving sound allowed them to achieve their goal. Technical yet dancable metal , not the simple mosh beats that you are used to but not so overbearingly complex that you just stand there scratching your head.

This is 6thirty7.
