6 thirty 7 - seed

Rating: 4 (on a scale of 1 to 5)

6 thirty 7 consists of 5 young men who play some of the heaviest metal I have heard in a long time from the underground scene. Upon one listen, one would assume these men grew up listening to such metal as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Slayer and Sepultura. The opening track on 6 thirty 7's debut cd, seed., is brutal in it's craftmanship and is performed with the utmost talent. Titled As I Bleed, it prepares the listener for a journey into the depths of madness and brutality, basically a warning for weaker listeners "Stop here, or witness the coming of a new brand of heaviness". The second track is a song full of anger and hatred, which one would expect with a title like Attached To Hate. Vocally, death metal growls reign supreme, but rhythmic raps and maniacal nu-metal melodies are allowed temporarily in each song. Favorites on this disc are Gutcheck and E.L.F. Each track displays 6 thirty 7's talents well, but also have that little bit extra to stand out on their own. Seed. is a disc for metal fans who like their music guttural and grimey. Listen at your own risk, and enjoy the musical beating you receive.
